Weight Loss Treatments

For a weight loss plan to be effective it must include lifestyle changes to ensure that gains made are lasting. One of the concerns with medication that suppresses the appetite is that, once the medication is stopped the appetite returns and with it, the weight.

All effective weight loss plans include progressive physical exercise along with decreased oral intake.

Sermorelin:

Sermorelin is synthetic growth hormone releasing hormone(GHRH) that, when injected, induces the release of human growth hormone from our pituitary gland. The release of growth hormone results in several physiological responses that include:

  • decreased body fat

  • increased muscle development and repair

  • increased healing and decreased recovery time

  • improved libido and mood

  • improved sleep and cognition

  • improved insulin sensitivity

Who should take Sermorelin?:

Consider sermorelin if you are active and you want to maximize your training while losing 5-20lbs. For BMI<27.

Who shouldn’t take Sermorelin?:

  • History or active cancer

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Professional athletes

What you have to do:

Book through app.

The sermorelin regimen requires a nurse assessment and an HCP consultation. You will be educated on giving yourself subcutaneous injections and you will be required to give yourself injections 5 nights a week. These are the same kinds of injections that many diabetics give themselves. After 3 months you will again visit with the provider for a wellness check-in. Depending on how you are doing, you will usually then be prescribed the second 3 month course. After 6 months a 30 day break is required.

You will have monthly visits with your nurse to confirm wellness and ensure safety and efficacy. This visit would be the perfect time to book a recovery or energy infusion to maximize your workout.

How much?:

$299.00/month at standard dosing. If you are prescribed the high dose medication an additional $20.00 will be charged. This price includes all consults related to Sermorelin, additional regimens may incur additional costs.

Semaglutide(GLP-1 agonist ):

Glucagon-Like Peptide 1 activates glucagon receptors in the pancreas which leads to increased circulating insulin and slowed gastric motility: this means you have more energy available, you feel less hungry, and you feel full for longer. When used in conjunction with regular and progressive exercise, this treatment will help you decrease caloric intake.

With this kind of treatment it is important to consider nutritional intake: as you are taking in less it is important to ensure you are taking in the right food. The best approach to diet analysis is to see a nutritionist; barring that, eat more protein.

Tirzepatide(GLP-1/GIP agonist)

This combines the action of GLP-1 with Glucose-dependent Insulinotropic Polypeptide(GIP). These work together to help you feel less hungry and lose weight. Studies have shown this combination to be more effective than GLP-1 alone.

Who should take GLP/GIP?:

Both of these compounds are for chronic weight management in healthy people with BMI over 25 kg/m2, or in people with stable chronic conditions and a BMI over 30 kg/m2. Chronic diseases, especially type 2 diabetes, must be stable prior to starting therapy with Nomad Wellness.

Who shouldn’t take GLP/GIP

  • History of adverse or allergic response to a GLP-1 or GIP, or any of its ingredients

  • Uncontrolled hyperglycemia

  • Uncontrolled chronic disease

  • History of pancreatitis

  • Gallbladder disease

  • Medullary thyroid carcinoma(MTC)

  • Kidney disease or insufficiency
