Rejuvenating Therapies
NAD+:
NAD+, or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is a critical co-enzyme that is involved with energy production at the cellular level. As we get older, our levels of this important cofactor decrease and contribute to what is considered normal aging, and replacement is difficult(see my blog for more information on this as well as its association with chronic diseases). Replacement of NAD+ not only helps with energy production, it also has an impact on inflammation and systemic stress.
What’s the catch?
NAD+ infusions take time. Once inside the body, NAD+ has to be converted so that it can move across the cellular wall. This means that we have to infuse it slowly to avoid unpleasant effects that include anxiety and chest pressure. If you experience any changes during infusion tell your nurse immediately.
Nicotinamide Riboside(NR):
Nicotinamide Riboside is a precursor to NAD+ and its function is the same. The big difference is that NR passes through the cell wall much easier so it is much better absorbed. This improved absorption allows for much faster infusion time and is much better tolerated. Studies are indicating that NR is capable of replacing intracellular NAD+ levels much more efficiently and effectively than oral replacement or even NAD+ IV.
This is revolutionary therapy! NR is a new compound and until now NAD+ replacement therapy has been less than optimal. It is very exciting to be able to offer this incredible compound.
NAD+ and NR are both available intravenously and intramuscularly. IV therapy gives faster results but also takes more time. IM injections are limited to a smaller maximum dose but have far fewer reaction risks. NR is available as an IV bolus, which is just a fast infusion.
Who can have NAD+ or NR?
This is a therapy for clients over 40.
Contraindicated in those with cancer or a significant history of same, pregnant or breastfeeding, or those with unstable chronic disease or severe cardiovascular conditions.
These are patient specific therapies: medications will be prescribed and sent directly to patient and your nurse will visit and administer as you desire.
Administration will be done weekly X4.
These therapies also require a level 2 provider visit every 3 months. If you choose to purchase another course within that period no additional visit is necessary.
